The US Central Command "CENTCOM" announced the arrest of a leader of an ISIS cell in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor city in eastern Syria.
CENTCOM said in a statement today, Saturday, March 8, that "the Syrian Democratic Forces carried out an operation with support from the Central Command, in which they arrested Salah Mohammed Abdullah, one of the organization's cell leaders in the vicinity of Al-Shuhail city."
According to reports, "SDF seized a 12.7mm sniper rifle, a Kalashnikov rifle, hand grenades, as well as various weapons and ammunition during the operation."
Arrest operations continue in eastern Syria, as the international coalition occasionally carries out targeted raids against specific individuals, often accusing them of belonging to ISIS.
The international coalition forces, along with the SDF, have conducted several operations against ISIS cells and individuals since the beginning of the current year.
