Amazon has officially made an offer to acquire the "TikTok" app before the deadline of April 5, as confirmed by CNBC. Several companies are seeking to acquire TikTok amid growing concerns about its future in the United States, where the app faces the risk of a ban if its parent company, ByteDance, fails to sell its operations in the country. According to a source, Amazon sent a letter to Vice President Mike Pence and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross this week, outlining its offer to purchase the platform. However, the source indicated that officials are not taking the offer seriously as it was made last minute before the deadline. Amazon declined to comment on the reports. January 19 was set as the final date to find an American buyer for TikTok, according to a law passed by lawmakers last year. However, President Donald Trump signed an executive order granting a 75-day extension, making April 5 the final deadline for the sale deal. Reports suggest that Trump may announce his decision regarding TikTok at any moment, possibly on Wednesday.
