Al-Shaibani thanks the United States for facilitating the visit of the Syrian delegation and emphasizes the necessity of lifting sanctions.

Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaaban, expressed his gratitude to the United States for facilitating the visit of the Syrian delegation to Washington and New York, describing the discussions with the U.S. administration as "constructive." This statement was published by the minister on the "X" platform.
Al-Shaaban emphasized that the Syrian delegation discussed during the talks "the importance of lifting the economic sanctions imposed on Syria completely," considering them as "a major obstacle to the Syrian people's ability to live with dignity and freedom." He added: "Opening the way for Syrians to live a free and dignified life is the natural gateway to any serious political process."
In response to calls for foreign intervention in Syrian affairs, the minister warned that "those who call for such interventions bear a historical, ethical, and political responsibility towards the Syrians and history," pointing out that its effects are not limited to "the destruction of the current moment, but extend to decades of disintegration, weakness, and national division."
Al-Shaaban stressed that real stability in Syria will only be achieved through "comprehensive national dialogue and active participation among all Syrian components," rejecting any "external dictates or guardianship," emphasizing the importance of preserving "full Syrian sovereignty."
He concluded his statement by saying: "No one cares more about Syria than its own people, and no external force can build a strong state without a genuine popular and national will."
