The Director of Security in the Rif Dimashq Governorate, Hussam Tahhan, stated that "the General Security forces have begun to deploy inside the city of Jaramana, after the individuals involved in the assassination of Ahmed Al-Khatib, an employee in the Ministry of Defense, refused to surrender themselves."
Tahhan clarified, according to "SANA," that "we will work on arresting them to present them to fair justice."
Tahhan pointed out that "our forces will work on ending the state of chaos and illegal checkpoints carried out by unlawful groups engaged in kidnapping, killing, and robbery by force of arms," as he expressed.
Tahhan indicated that "the armed individuals outside the state authority rejected all mediations and agreements, and we, in turn, affirmed that no Syrian geographical area will remain outside the control of state institutions. We have witnessed great cooperation from the people of Jaramana in this matter."
Jaramana city has witnessed security tensions for the past two days, resulting from a dispute that led to the death of a young man from the General Security.
