After a 14-year hiatus.. The first Turkish Airlines flights arrive at Aleppo International Airport
The first Turkish Airlines flights arrived today, Friday, at Aleppo International Airport coming from Istanbul Airport, after a 14-year stoppage, with 140 passengers on board.

A Turkish official delegation headed by the Turkish consul in Aleppo, Mimar Hakan Cengiz, welcomed the plane, along with a delegation from the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority led by the Director of Public Relations at the authority, Ala Salal.

In a statement to "SANA", Salal clarified that the arrival of the first Turkish Airlines flights at Aleppo International Airport is a step that reflects the return of life to one of Syria's most prestigious air gateways.

He pointed out that this flight comes as a result of diligent efforts and joint coordination between the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority and the Turkish side, within the framework of the policy of openness and cooperation adopted by the Syrian state to reconnect our airports with the world, serving the Syrian citizen and enhancing economic and tourism activity in the country.

He confirmed that the resumption of this air route represents the beginning of a new phase of international presence in Syrian airports, and that work is ongoing to expand the network of destinations and develop the infrastructure to match Syria and its regional role, noting the authority's commitment to providing the highest levels of service and safety in all airports.
