The pace of military operations has escalated in the countryside of Jableh in the Latakia Governorate, where helicopter airstrikes targeted Beit Aana towards the village of Maarin, coinciding with artillery shelling that reached the village of Dweir Abdeh, causing panic among civilians.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, "the sounds of explosions shook the area, while precise information about the extent of human and material damage has not been received yet."

This escalation comes amid increasing tension in the region, raising fears of military operations expanding in the coming hours.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that "the town of Dalieh in the countryside of Jableh in the Latakia Governorate and the village of Beit Aana witnessed a security campaign carried out by the internal security forces, accompanied by artillery shelling, concurrent with ongoing clashes with small arms between security forces and local armed groups in the area, with no information available about human losses."

The campaign followed an armed local group being targeted by a patrol belonging to the internal security in the village of Beit Aana, with the sound of explosions from 3 shells heard in the vicinity, and the communication network was cut off.

Simultaneously, military convoys belonging to the internal security forces entered the area, consisting of about 20 vehicles, some equipped with "DShK" machine guns and armored vehicles, amid reports of additional reinforcements arriving, as part of a security campaign targeting wanted individuals.

According to the Observatory, the residents of the area refused to hand over anyone without presenting a search warrant or official document, leading to confrontations with security forces that escalated to firing in the air to disperse the crowds. One of the suspects involved in arms trafficking was arrested.
