White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett said today, Monday, that the United States will immediately resume trade negotiations with Canada after Canada canceled the digital services tax targeting American technology companies.
Hassett added on Fox News when asked about resuming talks, "Absolutely." He said President Donald Trump asked Canadians to cancel the tax at the Group of Seven meeting in Canada.
He continued: "They studied the matter and agreed to it, and certainly, that means we can return to negotiations."
