Al-Dalati: We Withdrew from Sweida to Avoid an Open War with Israel

The director of internal security in Sweida, Colonel Ahmed Al-Dalati, reported that the withdrawal of state forces from the province came in response to international pressure, to avoid the outbreak of an open war between Syria and Israel.
Al-Dalati mentioned, during a briefing he gave to some detainees in light of recent events, that some parties recently issued a "clear summons" to Israel to target the security forces and the army, followed by a direct shelling of the Ministry of Defense building in Damascus and then the Presidential Palace, describing the scene as "extremely miserable".
He added that some parties in Sweida sought external force against their own country, questioning the reasons that led those parties to request international protection and to open a crossing with Jordan, despite their constant declaration that they are part of Syria.
Al-Dalati pointed out that the operations room facing the state in Sweida includes individuals affiliated with the ousted regime, with their hands stained with the blood of Syrians, including the people of Sweida themselves.
In his speech, he mentioned that the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Syria, Judge Al-Hajri, posted a statement on his page supporting the entry of security forces into Sweida, followed shortly after by a contradictory video, stating that it was a surprise to him and embarrassed him in front of others, especially after announcing an understanding between the state and the parties in Sweida.
