Group 'A3+' Calls on the International Community to Stop Israeli Violations in Syria

Group 'A3+', composed of Algeria, Somalia, Sierra Leone, and Guyana, called on the international community to take effective measures to end the repeated Israeli violations and incursions in Syrian territories. This came during a session held by the United Nations Security Council yesterday to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
The Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Ambassador Amar Benjamia, in a statement on behalf of the group, affirmed that 'Israel continues its aggression on Syrian territories in violation of international law and the UN Charter,' expressing the group's condemnation of these violations. The statement also emphasized the 'need for full compliance with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement'.
The statement pointed out that 'the Golan Heights is Syrian territory under occupation according to international law, as confirmed by UN Security Council Resolution 497,' calling for an end to the Israeli occupation and the pursuit of a complete withdrawal from all occupied areas.
In a related context, the group reiterated its support for a political solution in Syria, emphasizing the importance of the process being 'Syrian-led and owned, ensuring a transitional path that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people.' It also affirmed its support for 'Syria's sovereignty, unity, and independence,' and urged regional and international actors to make greater efforts to ensure economic recovery and sustainable development in the country.
