In a new legal escalation, the Emirati star Hussein Al Jasmi, through his legal advisor in Cairo, lawyer Mohamed Osman, filed an official complaint to the Egyptian Public Prosecutor against the owner of a music production company based in the Agouza area of Giza Governorate, accusing him of "defamation, slander, forgery of official documents, and using social media for extortion and abuse".
The details of the crisis date back to last May, when posts that insulted Al Jasmi and his artistic reputation spread through a page on "Facebook", claiming that he had stolen a melody owned by the page owner and used it in his famous song "I Love You".
The posts included a purported certificate attributed to the Egyptian Authors and Composers Association, confirming the validity of these allegations, which caused a wave of controversy and public interaction, deceiving many with its content.
However, the surprise came when the Egyptian Authors and Composers Association issued an official statement revealing that the published certificate was completely forged, manufactured by the accused in collaboration with an employee within the association, and the association confirmed the suspension of the involved employee and referred him for investigation.
Lawyer Mohamed Osman confirmed in his complaint that the defendant uses his digital platforms to mislead the public, tarnish Al Jasmi's reputation, and promote false information for extortion purposes.
He also noted that he filed another complaint on June 25, 2025, to the Documentation and Information Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior regarding the abusive page.
Indeed, the accused was summoned and interrogated, and his mobile phone was examined, revealing the abusive posts on his personal page, which supports the validity of the complaint filed against him.
This judicial development comes at a time when artist Hussein Al Jasmi continues to shine artistically, as he recently held a massive public concert in the North Coast of Matrouh Governorate, which witnessed a large attendance from his fans, during which he presented a collection of his most successful works.
Al Jasmi also continues to release songs from his new album "HJ2025", which he began gradually releasing through his official channel on "YouTube" since mid-July, at a rate of two songs weekly.
Among his latest releases are the songs "Al Noor" in the Gulf dialect and "Sad Bab Al Qalb" in the Iraqi dialect, which received wide interaction from the audience on social media platforms.
