A delegation from the Ministry of Defense, led by Brigadier General Awad Mohammed, commander of the 60th Division, conducted a field tour in the Tishreen Dam axis in the eastern countryside of Aleppo to assess the security and military situation in the area. The tour included visits to several villages and military points surrounding the dam as part of the ministry's efforts to restore security, stability, and enhance control in these areas. Brigadier Awad stated in a statement to "SANA" in Aleppo that "the handover of Tishreen Dam will be carried out within a well-thought-out timeline, to be announced in the coming days, in full coordination among the relevant parties." He also mentioned that the ministry will deploy specialized engineering teams to clear mines, paving the way for securing the area completely and preparing it for the return of displaced persons, emphasizing the importance of not rushing to return to the surrounding villages before completing the clearing and securing operations to ensure the safety of citizens. This tour followed a previous visit by a government delegation to the dam site to assess the dam's status and its technical and security needs.
