In a move carrying significant political and economic implications, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharaa, arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman, today, where he was received by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Marka Airport. The visit marked the beginning of an important dialogue between the two countries aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and joint coordination between the two brotherly peoples. President Al-Sharaa, along with King Abdullah, headed to the Royal Basman Palace, where purposeful discussions took place reflecting the deep historical ties between the two countries. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, focusing on developing coordination mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of common interests and enhance regional security. Both parties emphasized the importance of coordinating positions on common issues of concern to both countries and the region as a whole, while maintaining a continuous commitment to the common Arab action path to ensure the security and stability of the region. The expanded meeting was attended by several prominent figures from both sides; representing the Syrian side were President Al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Mr. Asaad Al-Shibani, while the Jordanian side was represented by King Abdullah II, Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. This visit aims to open new horizons of cooperation between the two countries at a critical time witnessing rapid changes and transformations worldwide, reflecting a sincere desire to enhance unity and understanding in facing regional and international challenges.
