A group of Israeli settlers invaded Lebanese territories near the town of Houla in southern Lebanon on Friday, March 7th, under the pretext of a "religious visit" organized by the Israeli occupation forces to a site they claim is affiliated with Rabbi Ashi.

The Lebanese Army Command stated in a press release that this action is part of the ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanon's sovereignty. Israeli forces brought settlers to visit what is claimed to be a religious site in the area of Al-Ibad - Houla in southern Lebanon.

The statement emphasized that this act represents a blatant violation of Lebanese national sovereignty and is a continuation of Israeli defiance of international laws and resolutions, especially Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement.

The Lebanese Army Command is monitoring this dangerous development in coordination with the Tripartite Committee overseeing the ceasefire agreement, and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), to take necessary measures to confront these repeated violations.

It is worth noting that the Israeli media had announced this visit since Thursday, March 6th, indicating that the Israeli army is preparing to bring hundreds of ultra-Orthodox Jews to pray at the tomb of Rabbi Ashi, a significant part of which lies within Lebanese territories.

This is the first time the ultra-Orthodox perform their religious rituals at this tomb, raising questions about the true motives behind this move amid escalating tensions in the region.
