Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu revealed a project to establish a railway connecting Syria and Turkey. According to a Turkish news agency, Uraloglu announced a project to build a railway starting from the village of "Meydan Ekbes" near the border of Afrin city in Syria to Aleppo. He mentioned that a section of the railway, about 45-50 kilometers, has been destroyed, while the rest is open up to Damascus. The Turkish minister confirmed that the project aims to link the railway line from Turkey to Damascus, estimating an investment of around 50-60 million euros. This announcement was part of his discussion on two vital projects to connect Turkey with regional countries, including the railway project with Syria. Uraloglu also mentioned another significant achievement in the development project linking Turkey to the Al-Faw port in the Arabian Gulf through a 1200-kilometer railway and highway. Earlier this year, talks were held between the Syrian and Turkish transport ministers to enhance cooperation in the transportation sector.
