Roshin Mustafa Ibrahim, a young woman from the village of Koburluk in the countryside of Ain al-Arab (Kobani) east of Aleppo, was kidnapped from her home two days before her wedding by members of the "Revolutionary Youth" affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). According to "Sham Network" news, Roshin's family confirmed that the kidnappers targeted their daughter to forcibly recruit her into the Women's Protection Units (YPJ), sparking anger and condemnation in the region. The family continues to demand urgent intervention from authorities and human rights organizations for her release. This incident is not the first of its kind, as reports of similar kidnappings by the "Revolutionary Youth," ideologically linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), are increasing. In a previous incident, the 15-year-old girl, Malak Kawa Abdou, was abducted near her school in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo and taken to training camps without informing her family, a blatant violation of international laws. The Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the abduction of Farida Khalil Mohammed (born in 2009) on March 15, 2025, preventing her from communicating with her family, raising concerns of being forced to participate in military activities. Reports indicate that more than 413 children are forcibly recruited in SDF camps. Kurdish human rights activist Mahmoud Allo called for an end to these practices, considering the recruitment of children a serious violation of international law and a war crime. Allo revealed that the "Revolutionary Youth" has kidnapped over 150 children during the current year, subjecting them to mistreatment in camps while their families are deprived of the right to visit or know their fate.
