Ziad Rahbani Laid to Rest, Fairouz Bids Farewell to Her Son in Bekfaya

The Rahbani family announced details of the funeral procession for the late artist Ziad Rahbani, who passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 69 after a long battle with illness. The funeral mass will be held on Monday at the 'Raqad Al-Sayyida' Church in the town of Al-Muhayditha - Kfarsghab, with the body being transferred from Al-Khoury Hospital in Hamra to the burial site.

According to the official statement issued by Al-Khoury Hospital, where he was being treated, 'Ziad Assi Rahbani passed away at exactly 9 a.m. yesterday Saturday, and the noble family was immediately informed.' The hospital added: 'Fate decided that this exceptional artist, who left a distinctive mark on the history of Lebanese art, theater, and music, would depart.'

It is expected that the star Fairouz will participate in the funeral ceremonies to bid farewell to her son, followed by the funeral prayer at 4 p.m., then the reception of mourners at the same church from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, with condolences continuing on Tuesday during the same period.

The late Ziad Rahbani suffered in recent years from severe liver cirrhosis, which affected his artistic output, but he remained an icon in the Arab cultural scene until his passing.
