Zelensky to Trump: Putin is "deceiving" about his desire to end the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope today, Wednesday, that the talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin this week would focus on a ceasefire, warning Trump that Putin is "deceiving" about his desire to end the war.

In a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Zelensky added: "I have informed the U.S. President and all our European colleagues that Putin is deceiving."

Zelensky considered that Putin is "trying to exert pressure before the Alaska meeting on all parts of the Ukrainian front. Russia is trying to show its ability to occupy all of Ukraine's territory."

Zelensky expressed his desire to hold a trilateral meeting with Trump and Putin, emphasizing that any talks about Ukraine should not exclude Kyiv.
