Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that he had a lengthy conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during which they discussed sanctions on Russian oil and agreed to hold a meeting in September.
In a post on "X", Zelensky said: "It is important for India to support the peace efforts we are making and to share the position that everything related to Ukraine should be decided with its participation."
He added: "It is important for every leader who has significant influence over Russia to send the corresponding signals to Moscow."
