Zelensky in Most Sensitive War Moments Calls for Putin Regime Change and Asset Seizure

The Ukrainian-Russian file has been the center of sensitivity and conflict between the Western and Eastern camps for the third consecutive year. On one hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin continues his war, including encroaching on Ukrainian territories that he believes were purely Russian and will return. On the other hand, his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky continues his attempts to stop him by any means, whether military, diplomatic, or even verbal. In a statement that can be interpreted as a signal of exhausting all available means, Zelensky calls on the international community to "change the regime" in Russia and seize its assets instead of freezing them.

Zelensky believes that Putin's stay in power means continuing to destabilize neighboring countries even if the war subsides.

Zelensky's "fiery" statement comes as he participates via video technology in a conference marking the 50th anniversary of the signing of the historic Helsinki Accords in 1975 between the Eastern and Western blocs, which guaranteed non-violation of borders, a principle violated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Zelensky also stated: "I see that it is possible to pressure Russia to end this war, which it started, and we can force it to end. But if the world does not aim to change the regime in Russia, it means that Moscow will continue trying to destabilize neighboring countries even after the war ends."

In his speech, Zelensky further escalates his demands not only to remove Putin from the Russian leadership but also to actually seize frozen Russian assets, expressing gratitude for the Western sanctions imposed on Russia and calling for more of them.

The conflict has lasted longer than expected, but it seems that the field movements are intertwined to a large extent between the diplomatic relations of Putin and Trump, which many believed had thawed, while in reality, there seems to be something that has brought them back to zero.
