In a qualitative operation reflecting the vigilance of the Yemeni forces, the naval force affiliated with the National Resistance on the western coast announced on the evening of Friday, July 11, 2025, the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of medium weapons in the Red Sea, near one of the international maritime passages.

According to Yemeni military media, the operation was based on precise intelligence information from the General Intelligence Division in the National Resistance, indicating the presence of a suspicious boat sailing near the international maritime passage.

Soon after, a patrol from the First Marine Infantry Brigade moved and intercepted the boat, towing it to a safe area.
Upon inspection, it was found to be carrying large quantities of anti-tank shells and RPG shells, along with other medium weapons.

The military media statement indicated that an investigation is ongoing with the detained boat crew members to uncover the party behind the smuggling operation, as no responsible party for the shipment has been announced yet.

A video was released documenting the moment of seizing the boat and the weapons on board, in an attempt to confirm the scale and danger of the operation, amid the ongoing military escalation in the Red Sea and its surroundings.

This operation comes at a sensitive time in the region, especially following the increase in the death toll from the Houthi attack on the vessel "Eternity Sea" to 4 people, signaling escalating tensions in one of the world's most important maritime passages.
