The World Food Program said today, Saturday, that "the ceasefire in Gaza must continue and cannot be reversed."
The UN program added in a post on its "X" platform that "after 6 weeks of ceasefire in Gaza, our teams were able to reach one million people across the region, by restoring distribution points, reopening bakeries, and expanding cash assistance."
It emphasized that the safe and sustainable humanitarian access route is clear.
And stressed the necessity of continuing the ceasefire in Gaza, saying: "It cannot be reversed."
Approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out of 2.4 million people in Gaza face the tragedy of forced displacement due to the widespread destruction caused by Israel to their homes over more than 15 months.
With the start of the blessed month of Ramadan and the intensification of the humanitarian crisis, Gazans face unprecedented difficulties in securing food and water, as breakfast and suhoor meals are no longer available to everyone.
Food aid is scarce, and the prices of goods brought in by traders are beyond the means of families who have lost their sources of income.
