Woman Pleads Guilty in Case of Ketamine Sale Leading to Death of 'Friends' Star Matthew Perry

A woman named Jasvyn Sanga (42 years old) pleaded guilty to charges related to her sale of ketamine that led to the death of 'Friends' television star Matthew Perry in 2023. This plea came before a court in California on Wednesday, sparing her from a trial before a jury.
Sanga, who is known in some Hollywood circles as the "Queen of Ketamine," faces a prison sentence of up to 65 years as part of the plea agreement, which includes several charges against her, including distributing the ketamine that led to the death. In this regard, her lawyer Mark Geragos told AFP in mid-August: "She accepts responsibility for her actions."
This plea prompts the prosecution to drop some of the charges initially brought against her.
The death of Matthew Perry, who was found unconscious in the jacuzzi of his apartment in October 2023, shocked the audience of 'Friends' and was followed by a wave of tributes to the late actor in Hollywood. The actor, who played Chandler Bing in the famous series, had spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction.
According to the investigation, Perry was taking ketamine under medical supervision as part of depression treatment sessions, but this legal drug is sometimes misused for stimulant or recreational purposes. Perry had relapsed into addiction in the fall of 2023.
In addition to Sanga, four other people are being prosecuted for their involvement in Perry's death, all of whom had previously agreed to plead guilty.
According to the investigation, Jasvyn Sanga sold dozens of doses of ketamine to Matthew Perry. During a search of her home, investigators found 80 bottles of ketamine, in addition to methamphetamine and cocaine.
Investigators have noted from the beginning Sanga's character, who loved lavish parties and often posted pictures on Instagram of her luxurious trips, sometimes on private jets, and her sparkling jewelry. Regarding ketamine, Sanga boasted of her ability to "meet any request," according to the investigation, thanks to her connections with a "chef" and a "scientist."
