The Minister of Information, Dr. Hamza Mustafa, invited the students of the Faculty of Media at the University of Damascus today, Thursday, to focus on practical training in media institutions, in addition to theoretical sciences and academic achievement, as it is the key to entering the job market in light of the upcoming media openness stage in Syria.

The minister emphasized during his dialogue session with the students in the college building the importance of commitment to objectivity and professionalism in media work, and adherence to the concepts of citizenship and the presentation of quality media content. He pointed out that the government attaches great importance to preparing media cadres capable of managing the next stage, clarifying that the basis of media work should be built on the principles of openness and follow-up, not restriction and control.

On his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Khaled Zaarour, explained that the college is directing research for postgraduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels towards real issues directly related to Syrian media, with a keenness to share the results of these studies with the Ministry of Information, contributing to the development of the media sector.
