US Energy Information Administration: Crude Inventories Rose While Gasoline Inventories Fell

The administration explained that crude oil inventories rose by 7.7 million barrels to 426.7 million last week compared to analysts' expectations, according to a survey conducted by Reuters, which expected a decrease of 1.3 million.
It said that crude inventories at the Cushing delivery hub in Oklahoma rose by 690,000 barrels.
It also mentioned that crude consumption at refineries decreased by 25,000 barrels per day, while refinery utilization rates fell by 0.1 percentage points during the week to 95.4%.
The administration stated that US gasoline inventories fell by 2.7 million barrels in the week to 228.4 million compared to analysts' expectations in a Reuters survey, which expected a decrease of 0.6 million.
Data from the Energy Information Administration showed that distillate inventories, including diesel and heating oil, rose by 3.6 million barrels during the week to 113.5 million compared to expectations of a 0.3 million increase.
The administration added that net crude oil imports increased by 1.32 million barrels per day.
