The death toll from the devastating floods that hit the American state of Texas has risen to at least 120, according to US media reports citing local authorities on Thursday.
Authorities explained that alone in Kerr County, 96 people died, including 36 children, many of whom perished in a summer camp for girls.
At the same time, search efforts are ongoing to find at least 160 missing individuals.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that more than 2,200 individuals are still in various areas of the state directly affected by the floods.
Abbott stated in an official statement: "The flooding conditions resulting from last week's storms continue to impact wide areas, including Central Texas, Hill Country, Big Country, and Concho Valley".
Authorities continue to provide support and relief to the affected areas while search and rescue operations continue amidst a state of mourning and high alert.
