Expected Cooperation Between the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and the Aga Khan Network to Develop Education and Health

During the meeting held at the ministry's headquarters, Al-Halabi emphasized the importance of supporting medical and educational services and benefiting from the network's expertise in nursing and vocational training, noting the ministry's readiness to cooperate in various areas, including university twinning and forming a joint committee to identify the priorities of future projects.
For his part, Woolraven explained that the Aga Khan Network operates in more than 30 countries, manages over 900 health centers, and provides approximately 14 million health services annually. He also expressed interest in opening a branch of the Aga Khan Medical University in Syria and enhancing partnership with both the public and private sectors.
Resident representative of the network in Syria, Ghaith Anjou, also mentioned the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding with the ministry, confirming that the network is active in the rural areas of Damascus and Aleppo, and has successful experiences in health and educational cooperation in several countries.
