UNRWA: Gaza Without Safe Shelter and Famine Knocking at the Doors

Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), confirmed that there is no safe place in Gaza, warning that civilians are facing an existential threat as the bombardment escalates and hospitals, schools, shelters, and homes continue to be targeted.
Lazzarini explained that "hunger threatens the people of Gaza with a slow and silent death, or death while searching for food," pointing out that the number of casualties among journalists, healthcare workers, and relief workers is unprecedented in modern conflicts.
For his part, UNRWA's media advisor Adnan Abu Hasna stated that Israel "is evading international decisions and dealing with famine in denial," confirming that half a million people in Gaza City are experiencing real famine, while the sector is nearing a complete collapse of the humanitarian system.
This comes at a time when the Israeli army emphasized that "the evacuation of Gaza City is inevitable," urging residents in the northern sector to head south, pledging to provide humanitarian assistance to displaced families.
