The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey "TOBB", Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, announced today, Monday, that the Union will work to support the reconstruction of Syria, revitalize its private sector, and promote entrepreneurship there.
The Turkish Anadolu Agency quoted Hisarcıklıoğlu as saying during a meeting of the Turkish-Arab Chamber of Commerce Board and Business Forum in Izmir today: "We are eagerly following the process of returning things to normal in Syria, and as the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, we will head to Damascus within 3 days, and work to support the reconstruction of Syria, revitalize the private sector, and promote entrepreneurship".
He also noted that the decision of the European Union and the United States to lift economic sanctions on Syria will contribute to accelerating economic development in the country.
The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey expressed his happiness in hosting businessmen and ambassadors during the meeting, which was also attended by the President of the Arab Chambers of Commerce and the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, and more than 100 businessmen from 15 Arab countries.
