In a move that may translate all the struggles and indications experienced by the Middle East region recently, the special envoy of the US President, Steve Witkoff, announced that expanding the "Abraham Accords" is one of the top priorities of US President Donald Trump, pointing to the possibility of other Arab countries joining the agreement that "no one had thought of".

In an interview with CNBC, Witkoff said, "One of President Trump's main goals is to expand the scope of the Abraham Accords to include more countries," adding: "I believe there will be very important announcements soon about countries joining the accords".

He added that "the United States seeks to normalize relations with countries that "perhaps people have not even thought of", indicating that this will contribute to stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

*What are the Abraham Accords?*

The "Abraham Accords", which Trump sees as one of the highlights of his first presidential term, are the result of US mediation between the Hebrew state and a number of Arab countries during 2020 and 2021. In 2020, Bahrain, the UAE, and Morocco normalized their relations with Tel Aviv, while Sudan announced in 2021 the establishment of diplomatic relations with it. Before these agreements, Israel had diplomatic relations with only two Arab countries, Egypt (1979) and Jordan (1994).
