Ukraine Arrests Chinese Man and His Son on Charges of Espionage and Attempting to Smuggle Secret Information to China

The Telegraph newspaper reported that the Ukrainian security service arrested the suspects yesterday in Kyiv, accusing the son and father of "illegally exporting secret documents to China related to the Ukrainian Neptune missile system."
The newspaper indicated that the 24-year-old son was a former student at a university in Kyiv, while his father resided in China and visited Ukraine "to coordinate espionage activities carried out by his son personally," according to the security service.
The authorities considered this arrest to be the first of its kind in Ukraine on charges of espionage since the start of the war in February 2022.
According to the security service's accusations, as reported by The Telegraph, the son attempted to recruit a Ukrainian citizen working on the development program of these missiles to obtain technical and sensitive information about the Neptune missiles.
The security service added that the son planned to hand over this information to his father, who in turn would transfer it to China. However, the Ukrainian intelligence caught him red-handed while delivering the secret documents.
