The Turkish opposition criticizes Hakan Fidan: Your statements make us wonder if you are a Syrian minister

The Turkish opposition criticized Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan following his recent statements during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Assad Al-Shaibani in Ankara, considering that his tone does not align with the peace process between Ankara and the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
Aisha Gul Dogan, spokesperson for the Kurdish "Party of Equality and Popular Democracy," said at a press conference today, Friday: "To my knowledge, Foreign Minister Fidan is not a member of the Syrian government, but some of his statements make us question that."
Doghan added that Fidan uses "threatening and arrogant language" that does not contribute to calming the situation but rather strengthens the position of those opposed to the peace process. She urged him to adopt a discourse that seeks solutions and moves away from demagoguery, emphasizing that choosing this tone "does not serve the path towards a terrorism-free Turkey."
The spokesperson believes that Fidan, who is well-informed about regional issues, needs to "update his language and political approach" to better serve his diplomatic line.
