Turkish Energy Minister: Azerbaijani Company "Socar" Could Become Turkey's Partner in Supplying Gas to Syria

Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez said today, Wednesday, that the Azerbaijani state oil company "Socar" may become a partner in Turkey's plans to supply natural gas to Syria, adding that Ankara hopes to start the supply soon.
Dönmez had stated during a visit to Damascus in May, that Turkey will provide Syria with two billion cubic meters of natural gas annually, in addition to one thousand megawatts of electricity.
Dönmez said during a visit to Vienna to attend a meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), "Socar may become our partner in this project. I hope we can normalize life in Syria".
