Turkish diplomatic sources deny reports of an upcoming meeting between Turkish officials and the leader of the "SDF."

According to Anadolu Agency, the sources refuted "allegations published by the news site Al-Monitor about Turkey's readiness to hold a meeting with the individual named Ferhad Abdi Shahin 'Mazloum Abdi.' The sources stated that the claims regarding Turkey and its authorities in the Al-Monitor report are "inaccurate."
The Al-Monitor report mentioned that Turkish officials offered Abdi a direct meeting, while Abdi claimed in a TV statement that he is in direct contact with Turkish officials and has channels of communication with them, as reported by the agency.
Last night, Friday, Abdi revealed in a recorded interview that the ceasefire with Turkey has been in place for about two and a half months, indicating that the current truce is temporary and conditional, and the "SDF" is working to turn it into a permanent ceasefire to maintain stability in northern Syria.
Abdi mentioned that the ceasefire is linked to several sensitive security issues demanded by Turkey, especially those related to the frontlines and military positions in conflict areas.
Abdi denied the possibility of a meeting between him and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, but confirmed that he does not object in principle to such a meeting if the appropriate conditions are met.
He also expressed openness to developing relations with Turkey, affirming that "SDF" is not currently at war with Ankara, and that the door is open for dialogue in the future.
