Turkey arrests a member of the "Hasm" Brotherhood movement

In a rapid development, and just hours after the Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced targeting terrorist elements affiliated with the "Hasm" movement who attempted to carry out sabotage operations in the country, Turkish authorities arrested one of those elements involved at Istanbul airport this Monday afternoon.
The Turkish authorities arrested Mohammad Abdel Hafez, a leader of the "Hasm" movement, whose name was mentioned in the Egyptian Interior Ministry statement as part of the cell of the movement that planned sabotage operations.
According to information from "Al Arabiya.net", a "Hasm" leader was detained at Istanbul airport upon his return from a business trip outside Turkey. His wife mentioned in a tweet on her social media page that she lost contact with her husband and was informed that he would not be allowed entry and would be deported despite his residency in Turkey.
This comes just hours after the Egyptian Interior Ministry announced the involvement of leaders of the "Hasm" movement, the armed wing of the fugitive Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey, in preparing and planning to revive its activities, and committing hostile operations targeting security and economic facilities. The Egyptian Interior Ministry stated that the National Security sector, in coordination with security authorities, managed to identify the leaders of the "Hasm" movement responsible for that plan. The primary accused is Yahya Al-Sayed Ibrahim Mohamed Mousa, one of the prominent founders of the "Hasm" movement, overseeing its armed and military structure. He has been sentenced to death in case No. 261/7122/2016 in the Nasr City Criminal Court for the assassination of the Attorney General. It was also mentioned that Mousa was sentenced to life imprisonment in case No. 6607/2022 in the Shorouk Criminal Court for attempting to target a number of important figures, as well as to life imprisonment in case No. 2022/120 in the Eastern Cairo Military Court for attempting to target the presidential plane and assassinate the martyr Major Magdi Abdel Razek, an officer in the Nasr City Police Department.
