Turkey Affirms Its Support for Stability in Syria After the Terrorist Attack in Damascus

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged not to allow "dragging Syria into chaos" again, following the suicide attack on a church in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Sunday, which resulted in the death of 22 people and injuries to dozens.
In a tweet on the "Ex" platform, the Turkish President stated, "We will never allow our neighbor and sister Syria to be dragged into a new state of instability by terrorist organizations acting on behalf," indicating Ankara's support for the Syrian government in confronting these groups, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
The Syrian Interior Ministry reported that a suicide bomber affiliated with "ISIS" entered the Saint Elias Church in the Dwelaa neighborhood, fired shots before detonating himself using an explosive vest, resulting in the death of 20 people and injuries to more than 50 others.
On the other hand, a Syrian security source, in a statement to the German news agency, accused remnants of the former regime of being behind the attack, without providing further details.
It is worth noting that the Saint Elias Church is located in an area with several churches in the predominantly Christian Dwelaa neighborhood. This is the first of its kind attack against Christian and Islamic places of worship since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime last December.
