Trump: Top Priority in Gaza is Feeding People

Speaking alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his golf resort in Turnberry, Scotland, Trump added: "The United States has provided $60 million in humanitarian aid, and other countries will need to increase their contributions".
He mentioned discussing this issue with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday, who informed him that European countries will significantly increase their aid. He also confirmed his intention to discuss the humanitarian situation with Starmer during his visit on Monday.
Trump said: "We provide a lot of money and a lot of food, and other countries are now increasing their contributions. It's total chaos. They need food and security now".
Starmer agreed, saying: "It's a humanitarian crisis, isn't it? It's a disaster by any measure... I think people in Britain feel disgusted by what they see on their screens".
Trump confirmed that he will not comment on French President Emmanuel Macron's efforts to support the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Trump also criticized the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) for not agreeing to release more hostages, both alive and dead, and said he informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel's approach should probably change.
When asked if a ceasefire is still possible, Trump said: "Yes, a ceasefire is possible, but you have to reach it, you have to end it".
Trump also emphasized the importance of releasing the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, stating that the movement has changed its position and refuses to release more of them.
Hamas announced its readiness to release hostages under a ceasefire agreement with Israel. It responded to the US-backed ceasefire proposal on Thursday during talks in Doha. Israel withdrew from the talks hours later.
