Trump Signs Largest Trade Deal with Japan Worth $550 Billion and Mutual Investments
In a significant trade move, US President Donald Trump announced yesterday, Tuesday, July 22, reaching a massive agreement with Japan, considered the largest of its kind between the two countries so far.

Trump confirmed in a post on his social media platform 'Truth Social' that the agreement includes imposing a 15% US tariff on Japanese goods, adding that Japan will invest under his guidance around $550 billion in the United States, which will account for 90% of the expected profits.

Trump pointed out that this agreement will create hundreds of thousands of job opportunities in America, and Japan will reciprocate by imposing a 15% mutual tariff on American products, enhancing market access between the two parties.
He mentioned that the agreement includes opening the Japanese markets to American trade in areas such as cars, trucks, rice, and some other agricultural products.

On the other hand, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba in Tokyo expressed the need to carefully study the details of the agreement before making any official comments, affirming that the Japanese government is committed to protecting national interests in the negotiations.

This agreement is part of a series of trade agreements recently concluded by the United States with countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Britain, and Vietnam, amid internal political challenges in Japan following the recent elections that led to Ishiba's coalition losing the majority in the House of Councillors.
