"Trump responds to Iranian official's threat to assassinate him: 'Hasn't taken a sunbath since he was a child'"

US President Donald Trump responded to a threat by an Iranian official to assassinate him using a drone while he was relaxing at the Mar-a-Lago resort, saying he hasn't taken a sunbath since he was a child.


Former advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, Mohammad Javad Larijani, had threatened that Tehran might target Trump while he was staying at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.


Larijani said in an interview with Iranian state television on Wednesday, as reported by Iran International website: "Trump has done something that prevents him from enjoying the sun rays at Mar-a-Lago".

He added: "While lying there with his belly exposed to the sun, a small drone might hit him in his comfort. It's very simple".

When asked about this threat by reporters at the White House on Wednesday, Trump responded with a smile, saying he hasn't taken a sunbath in years, adding: "It's been a long time. I don't know, maybe when I was about seven years old. I'm not a fan of the sun".

He continued: "I'm not too concerned about it. Yes, I think it's a threat. I'm not sure if it's a real threat, but maybe it is".

The Mar-a-Lago resort is located in Palm Beach, Florida on the east coast of the United States, near the Atlantic Ocean. The resort is a luxurious complex owned by Donald Trump, used as a winter residence and a venue for meetings and relaxation.
