Trump Declares State of Emergency in Texas County

U.S. President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency in Kerr County, Texas, one of the hardest-hit areas by the severe floods caused by heavy rains and the flooding of the Guadalupe River.
Trump posted the announcement on his Truth Social platform, indicating that "this action will allow for the immediate allocation of resources needed for emergency teams, with the aim of speeding up the response and providing assistance to the affected areas."
According to the latest information, the floods have resulted in the deaths of at least 59 people in central Texas, while authorities have managed to evacuate more than 850 individuals from hazardous areas, as announced by Governor Greg Abbott.
Trump emphasized that "federal authorities are providing full support to the state of Texas in containing the disaster's effects," while U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen arrived in the state to assess the situation and closely monitor relief efforts.
