Trump Attacks Netanyahu's Trial: "A Farce in Wartime"
In a startling statement, US President Donald Trump expressed his shock and dismay at the continuation of the trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite the exceptional circumstances Israel is going through, and under his leadership of the country during what Trump described as a "great war".

Trump wrote in a post on the "Social Truth" platform this Thursday morning:
"I was shocked to learn that the state of Israel, which recently experienced one of its greatest moments and is led with strength by Bibi Netanyahu, is still continuing its ridiculous and insane campaign against him".
He expressed his astonishment at the continuation of legal proceedings against Netanyahu, despite being in power and at a very sensitive time.

Trump emotionally spoke about his previous partnership with Netanyahu in confronting what he described as a "smart, dangerous, long-term enemy" which is Iran, pointing out that the Israeli Prime Minister showed at that moment the utmost intensity, strength, and patriotism, saying: "We went through hell together, and the unexpected result was the elimination of what could have been one of the most dangerous nuclear weapons programs in the world".

He added that any other leader would have collapsed under this pressure, but Netanyahu acted as a warrior like no other in the history of Israel, achieving unprecedented results.
He expressed his surprise that, despite all this, he is still being summoned to trial, referring to the case that he will appear in court again next Monday, in a politically motivated case that began in May 2020, a precedent in Israel's history, as no prime minister has been tried while in office.

Trump mocked the nature of the charges against Netanyahu, mentioning among them "the cigars, the Bezeq puppet, and many other unfair accusations", considering them aimed at tarnishing his image and deliberately harming him.
He described what is happening as "political persecution", and considered that Israel and Netanyahu deserve better than that.

Trump concluded his post by saying:
"It is unreasonable for a man who has done all this for Israel to be treated in this way. His trial must be canceled immediately, or he should be granted a pardon as a hero who has done a lot for the country. No one worked with me in harmony as Bibi did. I saved Israel, and now Bibi Netanyahu must be saved. This farce called justice cannot continue".
