US President Donald Trump launched a fierce attack on the Democratic Party, accusing them of paying hefty sums to celebrities in exchange for their political support, in practices he described as "completely illegal" and warranting trial.
In a post on the "Truth Social" platform, Trump accused Democrats of spending tens of millions during the last presidential election campaign, pointing to a $11 million payment to global singer Beyoncé for her political endorsement, in addition to three million dollars paid to Oprah Winfrey under the label of "expenses," and $900,000 to the famous TV presenter Al Sharpton.
Trump emphasized that these funds were not accurately recorded in the accounts, and that paying money for political endorsement is a clear violation of the law, calling for the trial of all those involved, including former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Despite the strength of the accusations, Trump did not provide any documents or evidence to support his claims, but he indicated that these actions raise serious questions about the transparency and legitimacy of political spending in the United States.
The news comes amid escalating political tensions in Washington, with increasing disputes between the two main parties ahead of the upcoming elections, while the issue remains a subject of wide follow-up and interest nationally.
