President of the Syrian Tourism Chambers Union, Talal Khedr, revealed a comprehensive plan to develop the tourism sector in Syria and enhance the quality of services provided in tourist facilities. Khedr explained that the plan presented during the union's meeting under the chairmanship of the Minister of Tourism, Mazen Salihani, focuses on reintroducing Syria to the global tourism map through participation in international exhibitions in the upcoming phase. The plan also includes a proposal to link the outputs of tourism education with the job market to create new job opportunities, pointing out the existence of a new mechanism that will be introduced soon in this context. Khedr emphasized the importance of activating tourism investments by preparing for a tourism investment forum and setting a date for its upcoming establishment. The meeting also addressed the necessity of improving services at archaeological sites in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums, as well as revitalizing tourism in mountainous and coastal areas. The meeting discussed a series of proposals to overcome the obstacles facing the tourism sector, emphasizing the importance of promoting domestic tourism and increasing the flow of tourists to Syria from various countries to enhance this vital sector.
