The General Petroleum Administration of the Syrian Ministry of Energy signed an agreement today, Friday, to supply gas with the Turkish Nikaş Holding Company, which stipulates providing Syria with 1.6 million cubic meters of gas daily.
The agreement was signed between the Syrian Deputy Minister of Energy for Oil Affairs, Director of the General Petroleum Administration, Ghiyath Diab, and the Director of Planning and Finance at Nikaş Holding, Batuhan Alkan.
This step comes as part of the completion of the previous agreement with both the Azerbaijani "SOCAR" and the Turkish "BOTAŞ" companies within the framework of the Syrian government's efforts to secure new energy sources and improve the electrical situation.
It is noteworthy that Syria signed a memorandum of understanding with Azerbaijan on July 12, which includes cooperation and coordination in the fields of energy and the supply of natural gas to Syria via Turkey.
