The Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shahr, discussed today, Tuesday, with a delegation from the Syrian-Saudi Business Council ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the challenges faced by investors and the available opportunities to enhance joint investments between the two sides were discussed, in addition to directing attention and focus on vital priority sectors that provide promising opportunities for investors in the upcoming phase.
The minister emphasized during the meeting the importance of removing obstacles for businessmen, pointing out the Syrian government's keenness to create an attractive investment environment that supports partnership between the public and private sectors.
It is noteworthy that Minister Al-Shahr arrived two days ago at the head of an official delegation to Saudi Arabia to participate in a roundtable meeting to enhance economic relations and trade exchange between the two countries, which resulted in the signing of an agreement to encourage and protect investment between the two countries, and the announcement of the opening of an office for the Saudi Ministry of Investment at the Syrian Investment Authority in Damascus.
