According to the German news agency "dpa" and data from the "Flight Radar 24" website, the plane took off at exactly 10:52 am from Leipzig heading to Baghdad. "dpa" quoted one of its photographers as saying that the police handled the flight procedures.
The passengers were also transported to the plane in small police buses and two larger buses belonging to the airport. Police officers accompanied the deportees individually to the plane's stairs. The Interior Ministry did not make any official statements about the number of deportees to Baghdad on board the plane.
Germany also conducted a flight to Kabul airport from Leipzig airport last Friday. According to authorities, there were 81 Afghan "criminal offenders" on board the plane. This was the second deportation flight to Afghanistan since the Taliban took power in August 2021.
