White House: Trump Frustrated with Progress of Trade Talks with India

The White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said today, Wednesday, that President Donald Trump is frustrated with the progress of trade talks with India and believes that his announcement of imposing a 25% tariff will help in this regard.
Hassett told reporters at the White House that Trump and U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Gray will have more information soon regarding an additional penalty announced by Trump earlier.
Hassett said, "I think President Trump is frustrated with the level of progress made with India, but he feels that imposing a 25% tariff... will address the situation in the interest of the American people."
In a post on the "Truth Social" platform today, Wednesday, Trump said he will impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from India starting from August 1st.
