The U.S. Treasury Announces Removal of Sanctions Regulations Imposed on Syria from the Federal Code

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today, Monday, the removal of sanctions regulations imposed on Syria from the federal code, noting that the decision will take effect starting tomorrow.
In a statement published on its website, the department clarified that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) made the necessary amendments to remove the sanctions on Syria from the federal code, in implementation of Executive Order No. 14312 issued on June 30, 2025, regarding the lifting of sanctions on Syria.
It indicated that the regulatory amendment is now available for public viewing in the federal register and will become effective upon its official publication tomorrow on August 26.
U.S. President Donald Trump also confirmed that the decision came after "changes in circumstances in Syria," referring to the positive measures taken by the new government led by President Ahmad al-Shara.
