United Nations: More than 4 million Ukrainians have returned to their country

The organization's director general, Amy Pope, said, "Displacement on this scale poses serious challenges to Ukraine and its people," stressing that "recovery must begin by focusing on the most vulnerable individuals, by connecting them with services and restoring their livelihoods, so that the return is not just about going back home, but goes beyond to reclaim their place within the community."
She emphasized that "we must enable internally displaced persons and Ukrainians abroad to return safely and with dignity," noting that "the International Organization for Migration is proud to support the Ukrainian government and its partners in these efforts, by investing in local leadership and adopting an area-based approach to ensure the sustainability of reintegration."
Organization data shows that around 4 million Ukrainians are still internally displaced, while 5 million Ukrainian refugees are still living in European countries.
