The United Arab Emirates welcomed today, Wednesday, the ceasefire announcement in Sweida Governorate, southern Syria, and emphasized the importance of de-escalation, protecting civilians, and supporting efforts aimed at restoring security and stability in the region.
In a statement by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported by WAM News Agency, the UAE strongly condemned the dangerous escalation in southern Syria and vehemently denounced the Israeli airstrikes on the region, affirming its complete rejection of violating Syria's sovereignty, threatening its security and stability.
The UAE Foreign Ministry also reiterated the UAE's consistent position in supporting the stability and sovereignty of Syria on all its territories, standing by the fraternal Syrian people, and supporting all efforts that aim to achieve their aspirations for security, peace, decent life, peaceful coexistence, and development.
