In a firm diplomatic stance, the United Arab Emirates summoned its Israeli ambassador and conveyed its strong condemnation of the "atrocious and offensive violations and practices" against Palestinians in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic neighborhood in the Old City of Jerusalem, as reported by the official Emirates News Agency. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these arbitrary practices constitute a dangerous provocation and incitement against Muslims, a blatant violation of the sanctity of the holy city. It considered the repeated attacks by Israeli extremists, accompanied by hate and violence incitement campaigns, not only targeting Palestinians but also posing a serious threat to the international community as a whole, contributing to escalating regional tensions, at a time when the focus should be on ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The UAE stressed the need for the Israeli government to bear full responsibility for these practices, demanding condemnation of such provocative acts and punishment of those responsible, including ministers and officials, without exception. It also called for urgent measures to prevent the exploitation of Jerusalem for violent, extremist, and religious incitement purposes. The Emirati statement affirmed that any Israeli reluctance to address these transgressions constitutes implicit approval, deepening the circle of hatred, racism, and instability in the region. Furthermore, the UAE emphasized the importance of respecting the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, based on international law and historical status quo, without compromising the management of the Jerusalem Waqf, especially concerning Al-Aqsa Mosque, Dome of the Rock, and their surrounding courtyards. Concluding its position, the UAE reiterated its unequivocal rejection of all practices contrary to international resolutions, warning of further escalation that jeopardizes peace, renewing its call for respecting the current situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and providing full protection for all religious sites in Jerusalem, considered a global symbol of coexistence and peace.
